HACHR is happy to announce two new collaborative webinars- “ChemSex 101” in collaboration with Chicago Recovery Alliance and Aids United, and “Harm Reduction: Addressing Health Concerns of People Who Use Drugs” in collaboration with North Coast Clinics Network, Open Door Community Health Centers, and Humboldt County DHHS.
The ChemSex 101 webinar and accompanying toolkit is available NOW on the Aids United website under the resources tab. You can expect an overview of chemsex, including the communities impacted and the range of use; a description of the different substances being used, including their effects, what to expect when using, and how to stay safe; a summary of education to provide participants, the importance of peers, and harm reduction strategies. https://www.aidsunited.org/resources/chemsex-101
The second webinar will be taking place on December 5th, 2019 from 12:15-1:15pm. This webinar will explore the basic values and principles of harm reduction, considerations for care using the harm reduction lens, and information about local community resources for individuals who use drugs. The target audience is clinicians, nurses, and medical assistants.
